Ever since we picked up our first cd of "that guy who sings that religious song about the old violin" in 1992, we have continued to be moved by Wayne Watson's ability to tell of Jesus like no other Christian artist we've found on and off stage. It seems that no matter what stage of life we were going through in our marriage, jobs, relationships or with our kids, Wayne has had a way of writing a song of what we needed to hear to point us to Christ.
We first saw Wayne Watson in concert at our church in 1993. It was right after he came out with the Beautiful Place album and he performed with James Dillingham for over two hours straight. I remember thinking James was so cool - he played guitar, flute, and sax. At one point in the concert, James left the stage and Wayne joked;"Oh, he's just going back stage to get another instrument to play." I remember Wayne doing Touch of the Master's Hand which I recongnized from Christian radio and two songs (which I know now to be Watercolour Ponies and Somewhere in the World) that made me cry. We were so moved by the concert that we have continually added to our collection of tapes, lps, 45's, CDs, cassettes, and videos of Wayne Watson to where we have collected almost everything he has produced. In September, 1997, I took an HTML Web class with my son at college and we learned how to make a web page. My class project was the start of the Wayne Watson Fan Page. - Harriet
His music ministry continues to bless us as we hope it does you.
