WAYNE WATSON SALTUES THE CLASS OF '99
--by Barry Smades for Crosswalk Music
As a Christian recording artist, what do you do for your youngest child after your song written for the eldest's graduating class climbed the chart all the way to No. 1? You, of course, write the sequel. Wayne Watson, who went to the top with "The Class of '95" four years ago, has again combined his musical gifts with his heart as a father to creating a moving tribute to the upcoming graduating class with "The Class of '99."
Produced by Michael Omartian, the new tribute will hit the street on March 30th as a special CD single in a greeting card format. The new project will include the accompaniment track for the song as well as a new remake of another Watson classic - "Watercolor Ponies." The original caught the industry by surprise and soloists across America scrambled to try to get ahold of the accompaniment track to sing the song four years ago.
Based on the strength of Watson's lyrics and the upcoming graduation for the last class with a 19 in front, this project should again take Wayne to the top and provide a special song for '99 graduates.
