Wayne Watson, one of the premier names in Christian
music, brings a fresh
outlook and a new label association to his brand new Warner Alliance release
Field of Souls. Produced by Grammy-winning Michael
Omartian along with David
Pack and the artist himself, and featuring some of the finest session players
around, Field of Souls combines Watson's up-front
and on-target lyrics, irresistible
melodies and distinctive artistry for an album sure to inspire hope and
renewal
and touch the heart of music lovers everywhere.
"This is probably as close to a thematic album
as I've ever done," explains Wayne.
"There was a time in my life that the diversity in the church was
threatening to me.
But this record embodies an appreciation of the variety that makes up the
body of
Christ. There's a peace and contentment that comes from looking at other
people
and being thankful for what God's given to them. That's a major focus on
this
album."
"I didn't really plan on going into music,"
Wayne reveals. "I played baseball in high
school and had a chance to play in college, but knew I wasn't going to
make the
major leagues, so I decided to go into music." A fortuitous decision,
because of the inspiration and encouragement Wayne would bring to the body
of Christ.
